Translation is an important form of transnational interaction between cultures and languages, but intellectual productions in Iran as well as works written in Persian outside of Iran have not reached a large English-speaking audience.  The current political situation in Iran has also led to the silencing of many literary and scholarly voices. ISI-NYU will translate and publish Persian texts produced in a variety of disciplines to fill those gaps in translation.
